Preface: I tell it like it is. My friends have been here several times before, but last night was my first night. They had nothing bad to say about the place, or the waitresses. This experience was different. There were four of us altogether. We went in, took seats, and our waiter was Rone, at least I think it's spelled like that. He was alright at first, but we couldn't make up our minds on the flavors to get, so by the third time he had come back to our table, he said "Have you decided yet? I don't have all night..." I couldn't tell if he was teasing or not, because his speech patterns intimated an alternative lifestyle, but he wasn't smiling, so I lean towards him being serious. We made our selection of two flavors on two two-person hookahs, and he said it would just be two seconds. Around 15 minutes later we finally got the hookahs, after he had served all of the other customers, some twice, and some who looked like they were freshman in high school. The vanilla hookah was alright, it bubbled good and tasted good. The "gummi snacks" hookah not only tasted off, but the hose was wrapped in electrical tape at either end, and there was limited airflow resulting in unsatisfactory performance. The vanilla hookah also needed coals at that point in time, and we reminded him twice while at the table. We brought the gummi hookah to his attention, and around 15 minutes later he got us a new hookah with one hose. Then he brought out another hookah with one hose, which we later found to be as useless as the first double hookah with gummi snacks, but we didn't bring it up. Both hookahs had gummi snacks. So that acted in his favor. He also said he would give us free green tea because of our patience with the bad hookah. A Jamaican lady who was friends with either a worker or the owner passed by our table and asked "You want some weed in dat?" We politely said no, and then she proceeded to demonstrate what the weed would do to us by standing in place and moving her upper body in circles while tilting her head back with her mouth open and moaning a bit. We laughed at her and she eventually left. And then some space cleared up in the lounge area, so we moved up there. We got our tea, which was pretty good, and about a half hour after we asked him for coals for our vanilla, we finally got them... After he had gotten coals a second time for a lone female customer he was chatting with. We decided to get baklava, and we ordered it, and it came out promptly, and it was pretty good. We smoked some more, and decided it was time to head out, so he got us the bill. The bill is what killed it. The menu clearly listed "members only" prices in a distinct light blue box, and then on the other side, it had "house special blends" or something like that, with prices for 1 through 4 people. It was $35.99 for 4, members only. It was $39.99 for 4, no members. He decided to charge us $44.99, because that was the actual price, and we should "disregard the prices on the menus." Then came the baklava. It was $3.99 for one piece. He charged us $7.98 for two. When we asked him about this, he stated that he assumed we wanted two because we were all sharing the baklava. I would have put up more of an argument, but my friends did not, so I lamented on berating him for terrible customer service and waiting skills. He stated he was new at this job, and that's why he made so many mistakes. Either he was lying about that, or he was lying when he introduced himself to us as "our hookah expert for the night." The only reason he got a tip was because it was too close to $60 for us to be able to give exact change. Miscellaneous complaints: One side of the room was far too bright, the music was too loud and seemed to get louder everytime he changed the song, there was obvious preferential treatment to certain customers(everyone but us,) The atmosphere of the place was only half decent.
