Description:

Asaki is a pioneering Japanese restuarant that has been in business since December 2007. Asaki will bring you all the tastes of Japan. The seafood is bought at sea ports where they sell the freshest of the fresh seafood. The owner of Asaki travels to the ports regularly to get the day's catch. This ensures that you get the best quality food available. Unlike other Japanese restuarants we are open even between lunch and dinner. We always aim to please, so if you want your food prepared a special way just let your waitress know. Also, the manager is always present to assist you.

When it first opened I would have to say that I enjoyed it. The service was okay, and the food was pretty good. However, as business slowed, Asaki cut corners. Last time I went there (winter 2010-11) my sushi was nowhere near fresh. I didn't even eat it. My water was never refilled, which has become the norm at Asaki. I live in the back mountain, but, if I want Japanese, I drive straight past Asaki on my way to Wilkes-Barre where there are several excellent Japanese restaurants.

this resturant is AWFUL. I'm a sushi buff from pittsburgh and have eaten sushi at countless places. i visit my boyfriend up here in the lake area and i have always eyeballed asaki as we drove past. well this friday i finally got the chanceto try it and i am BEGGING you all not to go there to pay their RIDICULOUS PRICES for such HORRIBLE BLAND food. my boyfriend and i qent to lunch there and we ordered our food, which the waitress got incorrect because she tried to remember it all instead of, oh i dont know, WRITE IT DOWN like most waitresses do?!?! then when i asked her to fix our order she got a very rude tone with me. now on t the food, i ordered a 13 dollar eel roll which was NOTHING BUT A REGULAR EEL ROLL WITH SOME AVOCADO ON TOP. how does avocado warrant charging me out the @$$ for some sushi. not to mention the eel had BONES in it and the nori strips holding my spider roll together had the texture and flavor of ELECTRICAL TAPE. my boyfriend got the tempura bento and it was nothing but FLAVORLESS UNSALTED boiled TOUGH shrimp, chicken and SOGGY BROCCOLI. it was GREASY and disgusting. i also ordered an EIGHT DOLLAR fried softshell crb with ABSOLUTLEY no meat inside. i was basically eating fried batter. and for all this NASTY food and SMART ASS b#$%! service what did we pay? FIFTY DOLLARS. so PLEASE for the love of all tings good DO NOT GO TO ASAKI!!!!!!
