The creator of Sakari Salon, Nancy Medico, had known for years that she wanted to open a salon one day. Being a licensed cosmetologist for 27 years, she wanted the kind of environment that would encourage creativity and be a place where clients would always feel welcome. Her plan was set in motion when she found the perfect location at 900 Rutter Ave in Forty Fort. This was to be the place to build the vision “Sakari”.
Everything in the salon was planned and mapped out by Nancy herself, from the subtle treatments on the walls to the placement of every fixture. As the salon was being built the next step was to find the perfect team that would be the Sakari staff. As Nancy shared her vision it wasn’t long before she had a group of talented designers that wanted to be part of Sakari. With the help of others, everything in the salon fell into place and it wasn’t long before the opening day was upon them.
On November 4th 2007 a salon unlike any other in the area opened for their fist day of business. Sakari was hosting a Hope Cuts Day for their launching. Nancy along with her staff wanted to introduce City of Hope to the community and give back to a great cause. The staff donated their time and services, and all of the funds raised were donated to City of Hope. Thanks to the help of family and friends the day was a huge success. Now three years later on September 19th you can join the salon for Hope Cuts and show your support for the City of Hope.
